The cut exists
between the profiles.
Two matching shapes make a straight cut. Two different end shapes can produce a tapered surface — but only when the left and right movements are coordinated correctly.
In a four-axis machine, the wire's ends are controlled separately. Left and right profiles are not two independent cuts; together they describe one moving wire.

The towers sit beyond the foam faces. Their distance from the block affects the motion needed to reproduce a taper at the foam itself.

For a tapered wing core or another changing cross-section in foam or Styrofoam (EPS), the path at one face may differ from the other. AdriFoam X4 calculates synchronized wire movement and generates the corresponding G-code for your CNC hot-wire setup.
The final result still depends on your machine geometry, controller, material, wire temperature and feed settings. Simulation is a planning aid, not a guarantee of safe operation.

What does AdriFoam X4 actually do?
AdriFoam X4 is a CNC hot wire G-code generator. It takes supported profile drawings, plans synchronized four-axis XYUV cutting motion, lets you preview the result and exports G-code for cutting shapes in foam, sponge and Styrofoam (EPS). It is not a physical cutting machine or a CNC controller.
What is 4-axis hot-wire foam cutting?
A heated wire spans two independently positioned gantries. The XY and UV ends can follow different profiles at the same time to form tapered shapes.
Can I use any DXF file?
AdriFoam X4 supports R13 and R14 DXF profile files, as well as PLT. Not every DXF version or drawing structure is supported, so use R13/R14 DXF and check your imported profile before generating G-code.
Does it work with any CNC controller?
AdriFoam X4 generates the most standard, universal G-code for 4-axis CNC hot wire cutting. However, individual controllers can use different axis names, settings and G-code dialects, so please verify the generated program is compatible with your controller and machine before running it.
Does the purchase involve monthly payments?
No. The advertised €295.95 license is a one-time purchase for perpetual use of the purchased version, not a subscription.
Can I activate on a replacement PC?
Yes. The license can be transferred through the AdriFoam license portal, using your purchase email and verification code. Only one machine can be active at once.
What is the refund policy for digital software?
